Job summary

AvePoint is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead the global production BI operating model and turn governed data products into trusted reporting experiences. You will own Power BI and semantic model standards across the organization, while guiding analytics and data engineering partnerships.

The role emphasizes scalable, AI-ready consumption, production support, and a high-leverage operating model across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading BI, enterprise reporting, semantic modeling, analytics engineering, or a closely related function.
• Proven people leadership experience managing and developing technical BI teams; experience leading across regions or distributed delivery.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Power BI and modern semantic model architecture; familiarity with Fabric, Direct Lake, OneLake, deployment pipelines, AI-enabled analytics, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of dimensional and semantic modeling, DAX, SQL, performance optimization, RLS/security, report architecture, and production support.
• Experience establishing BI engineering standards, QA and regression testing, CI/CD or release management, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the global BI strategy, operating model, service catalog, roadmap, and delivery standards for production reporting.
• Lead BI intake, prioritization, capacity planning, and delivery coordination with transparent status and business value.
• Establish clear handoff criteria from Analytics prototypes into BI production, including certification, QA, and release management.
• Own production Power BI and semantic model engineering standards, including model performance, security, and monitoring.
• Partner with Analytics to consume approved enterprise metrics and avoid redefining business logic in reports.
• Build a domain-aligned BI delivery model across AvePoint domains with aligned capacity.
• Design a global resourcing model with follow-the-sun support and selective hiring as needed.
• Develop BI engineers through coaching, clear ownership, and rotational domain assignments.
• Drive report and semantic model rationalization, retire legacy assets, and track operating metrics.
• Collaborate on AI readiness ensuring trustworthy and reusable outputs.
