Job summary

AbbVie is hiring an Associate Director of Data Semantic Governance to shape governance across the organization, aligning semantic models, metadata, and data quality with enterprise strategies. You will collaborate with Data Strategy, Analytics, and BTS teams to drive standardized semantic layer design and enterprise data standards.

The role requires senior data governance expertise, executive collaboration, and a track record of influencing across business units to enable AI-ready data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, business analytics, CS, or related field.
• 7+ years of data governance, data architecture, or data management.
• Deep expertise with governance and cataloging platforms (Alation, Collibra) and MDM platforms (Reltio, Informatica).
• Strong SQL and cloud data ecosystems (Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication and ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape strategic direction for data governance across AbbVie.
• Bridge business stakeholders with IT, data strategy, and BTS partners.
• Own governance standards and semantic data landscape.
• Lead data quality, lineage, and metadata initiatives.
• Represent governance in executive forums and councils.
