Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Automation & Robotics Integration SME to be the global technical authority on automating how products are made. You will drive cobots, cell design, and MES/ERP integration while owning the enterprise standards and technology roadmap.

This front‑line role requires hands‑on leadership at the plant floor to deliver substantial safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements. You will set best practices, mentor site teams, and collaborate with global vendor partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years in automation/robotics integration.
• Hands‑on expertise designing/f applying fixed and flexible automation cells including cobots.
• Experience integrating automation controls with MES/ERP systems and setting global standards.
• Demonstrated ability to pilot solutions quickly on a line or plant and scale them broadly.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally (30–50%) to plants and suppliers.
• Proven track record of leading urgent automation uptime improvements at Gemba.

Responsibilities

• Define, publish, and govern global automation standards, specs, and procedures across all plants.
• Own and refresh the multi-year technology roadmap for automation and robotics integration.
• Identify, codify, and deploy best practices across the global plant network; close performance gaps.
• Serve as primary technical liaison between manufacturing engineering and plant operations.
• Build automation capability through training, certification pathways, and hands‑on mentoring.
• Spend most time at Gemba, leading problem solving for safety, quality, and productivity issues.
