Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Automation & Robotics Integration SME who will set enterprise standards, own the technology roadmap, and champion hands-on problem solving on the plant floor. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost improvements across a global manufacturing network.

Responsibilities include governance of automation cell design, cobot safety, MES/ERP integration, and leading vendor evaluation to bring the best capabilities to production lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Robotics, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of automation and robotics integration experience.
• Experience designing fixed and flexible automation cells, including cobots.
• Experience integrating automation controls with MES/ERP systems.
• Willingness to travel internationally (30–50%).
• Hands-on leadership at Gemba to drive urgent automation improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern global standards for automation cell design and cobot safety and integration across all plants.
• Own the multi-year global technology roadmap for automation and robotics integration.
• Identify and deploy automation best practices across the global plant network.
• Lead vendor evaluation and management to ensure best available technology.
• Provide hands-on leadership at Gemba to drive measurable safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost improvements.
