Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an automation-focused professional to improve, maintain, and support all automated Assembly, Test, and Production systems. You will drive performance, reliability, and process capability by applying PLC programming, robotics, HMIs, and data analytics.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering to deliver sustainable automation solutions and continuous improvement across the production line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMIs, sensors, robotics, motions systems, and industrial networks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze equipment data to improve OEE and reliability.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement; RCA and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve, maintain, and support automated Assembly, Test, and Production systems; increase uptime, OEE, and process capability.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex automation issues including PLC logic, sensors, HMIs, robotics, and servo/motion systems.
• Develop and maintain PLC programs, update HMI screens, and ensure robust version control and documentation.
• Own OEE improvement initiatives and analyze downtime trends to target opportunities.
• Lead automation for new equipment: specs, vendor reviews, commissioning, and FAT/SAT.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for operators, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
