Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an entry-level Automation Engineer to support automated manufacturing systems, troubleshoot PLC/HMI equipment, and assist with documentation and improvements. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Internship, co-op, academic project, laboratory, or hands-on technical experience is welcomed.
• Basic knowledge or academic exposure in PLC or industrial control systems; HMI or SCADA applications; industrial equipment, sensors, instrumentation, robotics, or communications.
• Willingness to learn, strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support automation and manufacturing systems, optimizing automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, sensor, and equipment issues under guidance.
• Assist development, modification, and testing of basic PLC/HMI applications; document work.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor activities as assigned.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT, and external suppliers; learn site automation standards.
