Job summary

People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists is seeking an Import & Export Coordinator (Air & Ocean) in Atlanta, GA to manage international shipments from origin to final delivery.

You will coordinate air and ocean imports/exports, prepare shipping documents, track milestones and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding.
• Hands-on experience with both Air and Ocean freight.
• Experience handling Import and Export operations.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and processes.
• Familiarity with US customs clearance procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and freight forwarding software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and ocean import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Arrange bookings with airlines, steamship lines, co-loaders and overseas agents.
• Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation.
• Track shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, overseas offices, agents, customs brokers and warehouses.
• Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays or operational issues.
• Handle arrival notices, delivery orders and final delivery arrangements.
• Ensure all shipment documentation is accurate and completed within required deadlines.
• Liaise with customs brokers to support import clearance.
• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and other shipping documents.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information within the company's operating system.
• Assist with freight billing and invoicing.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and provide a high level of customer service.
• Ensure shipments comply with company procedures and applicable international shipping regulations.
