Job summary

Maersk in the United States (Georgia) is seeking an Air Import Agent to coordinate and manage international air freight import shipments from origin to destination. You will ensure timely movement, compliance with U.S.

customs regulations, airline requirements, and company policies, serving as the main contact for customers, airlines, brokers, and providers. The role covers documentation, carrier communications, pricing support, and data entry in transportation management systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or air cargo operations preferred.
• Proficiency in air freight import procedures and customs regulations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with CW1 or similar logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation.
• Communicate with airlines, brokers, trucking companies, and customers.
• Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Verify shipment details and data entry into transportation systems.
• Resolve delays, damages, discrepancies, and service issues.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and TSA requirements.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and cost control related to import shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
• Support customers with quotes, inquiries and service solutions.
