Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Air Import Agent in the United States to coordinate and manage international air freight import shipments from arrival to final delivery. You will serve as the primary contact for customers, airlines, customs brokers, and transportation providers, ensuring shipments move efficiently while complying with customs regulations and airline requirements.

The role requires knowledge of air freight import procedures, strong organization, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; CW1

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or air cargo operations preferred.
• Knowledge of air freight import procedures and customs regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with logistics software or CW1 (preferred).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation, including Air Waybills (AWBs) and Packing Lists.
• Communicate with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers regarding shipment status.
• Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Verify shipment details and ensure accurate data entry into transportation management systems.
• Resolve shipment delays, damages, discrepancies, and service issues.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, TSA requirements, and company policies.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and cost control related to import shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
• Support customers with quotes, shipment inquiries, and service solutions.
