Job summary

Maersk in the United States seeks an Air Import Agent to coordinate international air freight imports from arrival through final delivery. You’ll be the main contact for customers, airlines, customs brokers, and providers, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.

The role requires knowledge of air import procedures, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment. Office-based position with standard business hours and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or air cargo operations preferred.
• Knowledge of air freight import procedures and customs regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with logistics software or CW1 (preferred).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation (Air Waybills, Invoices, Packing Lists, Customs docs).
• Communicate with airlines, ground handlers, brokers, trucking, and customers.
• Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Verify shipment details and data entry in TMS.
• Resolve delays, damages, discrepancies, and service issues.
