Job summary

FAR.AI in Berkeley, CA seeks a Community Lead to shape and grow the AI safety community. You will identify opportunities for collaboration, connect researchers and practitioners, and drive sustained engagement through programs beyond events.

You will lead the Bay Area community and work with global partners to turn relationships into tangible research and safety outcomes. This is a full-time, in-person role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience building communities or networks with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to translate field insights into clear priorities and programming.
• Proven track record of nurturing collaborations and partnerships.
• Strong relationships and credibility within AI safety or related fields.
• Strategic leadership with ability to guide a small team and cross-functional partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute FAR.AI’s community strategy and priorities.
• Build relationships with researchers, practitioners, and policymakers across geographies.
• Represent FAR.AI at conferences and events to identify key opportunities.
• Lead initiatives to sustain engagement beyond events and programs.
• Manage the Community Manager and align Bay Area programming with broader goals.
• Coordinate with Futures and Communications teams to deliver impact.
