Job summary

Citigroup seeks a Senior Manager, AI Risk and Controls to lead independent oversight of AI use cases and AI assets across Citi's global portfolio, ensuring governance standards and regulatory compliance. The role sits in the Non-Financial Risk function and places you at the center of governing AI responsibly at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in risk management in a global financial institution.
• 8+ years in a senior management capacity across multiple disciplines.
• Deep knowledge of AI and machine learning risks, incl. Gen AI and agentic AI.
• Ability to assess AI risk levels across development, pre-production, production, and decommissioning.
• Experience with AI governance frameworks and regulations (EU AI Act, NIST RMF).
• Excellent ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex AI risk concepts.

Responsibilities

• Exercise delegated approval authority for AI use cases and assets.
• Lead independent reviews of testing results, control design, residual risk, and approval conclusions.
• Monitor AI use case performance and escalate material issues.
• Assess impact of new AI use cases on processes and controls; route for reapproval.
• Build and lead a high-performing AI risk team and foster accountability.
• Represent the AI risk function at executive forums and Board discussions.
• Define and drive the strategic multi-year AI risk framework roadmap.
