Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Project Conservator to lead conservation work on the Sin Temple glazed brick façade from Khorsabad, Iraq (8th century BCE). Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (minimum).
  • 2–5 years of related conservation experience.
  • MA or MS in Conservation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs conservation treatment and stabilization of the glazed brick façade.
  • Maintains comprehensive conservation documentation and reports.
  • Operates microscopes and analytical equipment used in conservation research.
  • Collaborates with curatorial, collections, registration, and education staff.
  • Ensures compliance with AIC and IIC ethical guidelines and professional practices.
  • Writes condition reports and manages loaned pieces for University museums.
