Job summary

The Cincinnati Eye Institute is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician (Glaucoma) to assist ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and patient prep in Blue Ash, OH. You will handle patient intake, record medical history, and operate EMR tools while delivering compassionate care.

Essential duties include patient service, data entry, coordinating with the physician, and assisting with diagnostic tests such as visual fields and OCT. Minimum GED and 1 year experience required; COA/COT preferred.

• HIPAA confidentiality standards must be followed when handling patient information
• Strong communication with all staff levels in a courteous manner
• Organizational skills to track patient care and improve flow
• Demonstrates initiative to meet practice goals
• Willingness to work over 40 hours and on weekends when needed
• Reliable transportation to multiple locations if required

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient service during every encounter (in person or by phone)
• Greet patients promptly, professionally, and thank them when they leave
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow
• Ensure patient time and doctor schedules are respected
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies
• Record patient information and medical history accurately in EMR
• Record data in the EMR and verify purpose of visit
• Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields and OCT
• Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and prepared for procedures
• Open/close exam rooms and maintain supplies
