Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Area Lead to manage production lines, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate start-up schedules across shifts. You will mentor new hires, maintain production boards, and drive remakes to meet quality and MPO goals.

The role requires strong communication, decision-making when supervision is absent, and the ability to read schedules and operate production equipment. Excellent attendance is essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate safety in everything you do and cannot cut corners.
• Hold lines accountable to producing high quality and follow CTQ guidelines.
• Make decisions on your own when supervisor is not present.
• Proficiently run all equipment on the production floor that you oversee.
• Communicate clearly with peers and subordinates daily on business items.
• Maintain excellent attendance and be able to adapt to OT and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on safety and PPE usage.
• Start up schedules for line leads and communicate line assignments.
• Ensure line leads are present and on time throughout shifts.
• Conduct meetings with leads on production topics and improvements.
• Onboard and mentor new hires, monitor progress during shifts.
• Maintain and update production boards and address gaps.
• Prioritize remakes and investigate why lines miss targets.
• Monitor fall outs and ensure carts are complete with proper labels.
• Be proactive during downtime and keep workers busy with productive tasks.
• Assist in pushing production to meet MPO goals when lines underperform.
