Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Accountant III (NS) in the General Ledger Unit to conduct advanced accounting analysis, prepare reports, and ensure GAAP and GASB compliance.

You will liaise with developers and project managers on SAP/FMIS upgrades, build analytical forecasting tools, and support budgeting, cost disbursement, and financial statements for agency leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline and 4 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards.
• Experience with financial reporting and government accounting environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced accounting analysis and prepare related reports.
• Serve as business liaison to developers, project managers and platform admins on SAP/FMIS upgrades.
• Create forecasting tools and SOPs linking general ledger to other finance functions.
• Manage daily, monthly and yearly controlling and cost disbursement activities.
