Job summary

Halker Consulting is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Centennial, CO to manage the general ledger and month-end close processes. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support payroll and fixed asset activities on a monthly cadence.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. ERP knowledge (Deltek, NetSuite) is preferred, with a negotiable salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years accounting experience and solid understanding of general ledger and month-end close.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP or project accounting systems (Deltek, NetSuite) or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Review and analyze financial data for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
• Research and resolve GL discrepancies, including unusual balances and reconciling items.
• Maintain and update recurring accruals, prepaid expenses, and amortization schedules.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash account review.
• Administer bi-weekly payroll process.
• Support fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation entries.
• Collaborate with project accounting, AP, AR, and payroll teams to ensure proper coding and timely month-end close.
• Assist with audit support, financial reporting, and preparation of schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support process improvements and internal controls related to the general ledger and month-end close.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation is negotiable and shall be offered commensurate with experience
• Expected base salary range: $80,000 - $95,000
