Job summary

GL Accountant role focuses on managing day-to-day General Ledger activities and ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions in line with company policies.

Primary duties include month-end and year-end closings, intercompany reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports for management. Strong ERP experience and English/Arabic language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 2–3 years of experience in General Ledger or accounting roles
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update General Ledger accounts and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Monitor accruals, provisions, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Assist in intercompany reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documents.

About the job GL Accountant

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing day-to-day General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and update General Ledger accounts and ensure accurate accounting records.
• Monitor accruals, provisions, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Fixed Assets
• Assist in intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Ensure proper classification and recording of expenses, revenues, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare and assist in financial reports for management.
• Monitor accounts payable.
• Support internal and external audits by providing the required documents and explanations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and related disclosures.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Perform any finance and accounting duties and analysis (revenues - costing) assigned by the manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Experience

• From 2 - 3 years of experience of relevant experience in General Ledger or accounting roles.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
