Self-starter supporting the month end close process including analysis and account reconciliations using technology enables solutions. Responsible for supporting the general ledger system and implementing process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Responsible for supporting the general ledger system for all divisions ensuring accuracy, integrity and security of financial data.
- Prepares, verifies, and controls the entering of all journal entries to the general ledger (cash receipts, expenses, depreciation, fixed assets).
- Reconciles general ledger accounts including cash disbursement accounts.
- Prepares and maintain files associated with rolling stock, prepaids, licenses & permits, and property taxes.
- Supports the annual and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Prepares monthly sales tax deposits and quarterly sales tax returns.
- Prepares monthly reports, including the summary of accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory stock status, and cash flow variances.
- Assist in special assignments as required by the Controller
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business or Accounting and 2 - 3 years of general ledger experience or equivalent experience. Intermediate knowledge of general ledger posting experience.
- Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Google and familiarity with accounting software and reporting tools.
- Background in financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Familiarity with account reconciliations and expense analysis.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster business relationships within and across functions and explain accounting concepts and processes in ways that non-technical colleagues can understand. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, policies, system documentation, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports, procedures, and correspondence.
- Exercises judgment and uses knowledge to identify and solve problems or make decisions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Salary Range - $78,000 - $88,000 annually
