Job summary

The City of Cibolo is seeking a GIS Technician to collect, create, update, and QA/QC GIS data for Water and Wastewater programs, using ESRI ArcGIS Pro/Online, Trimble hardware, and mobile apps.

Responsibilities include maintaining datasets, aiding end users, and producing high-quality outputs while complying with data standards. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field and at least one year of ArcGIS experience, with a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience with ESRI ArcGIS and survey‑grade GPS.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, ArcGIS Online, and ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GIS datasets and hosted layers for Public Works operations.
• Interpret and transfer data from plans, digital/printed records.
• Collect field data using GPS and integrate with existing datasets.
• Perform QA/QC on GIS data and correct issues.
• Create documentation for geodatabases, shapefiles, and procedures.
• Support city staff in GIS-related projects and analyses.
