Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a GIS Technician II in Johnstown, OH (Partial Remote) to support a Distribution GIS project. You will create cartographic outputs, manipulate data, and perform field data entry and basic data management for reports and maps.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of GIS experience, Esri/ArcGIS familiarity, and a relevant degree. There is potential to convert to a full‑time role if educational requirements are met.

Qualifications

3–5 years of GIS experience; Esri/ArcGIS experience preferred.
Familiarity with drafting, graphics, and MS Office; color discernment essential.

Responsibilities

Create, revise, and maintain technical data for reports, maps, and sketches.
Create and maintain material and property equipment records.
Obtain information from verbal/electronic sources, sketches, and field notes.
Operate large scale plotters and duplicating equipment.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure data reflects field conditions.
Generate reports pulling data from databases and maps.

GIS Technician II

Location

Johnstown, OH (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a GIS Technician II for a Distribution GIS project. This role involves creating cartographic output, data manipulation, data creation from digitization or field surveys, and basic data management. The ideal candidate will interpret and enter field data into GIS-related systems and databases. This role has the potential to convert to a full‑time employee position, provided educational requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Create, revise, and maintain technical data used for reports, maps, and sketches.
Create, revise, and maintain material and property equipment records.
Obtain information required to perform work from multiple resources including verbal/electronic communications, sketches, marked drawings, and field notes.
Operate large scale plotters and other duplicating equipment.
Work with other organizations to resolve discrepancies to assure that data reflects accurate field conditions.
Generate reports defined to pull data from graphical and non-graphical databases.

Required Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field; OR a High School diploma/equivalency combined with relevant experience.

Experience

A minimum of 3-5 years of related GIS experience is required. Esri/ArcGIS experience is highly transferable.

Technical Skills

Familiarity with conventional drafting symbols and drafting methods.
Familiarity with computer graphics and automated drawing methods.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access).
Ability to distinguish colors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the GE Smallworld tool is preferred.

Other Requirements

A valid state driver's license is required.
The physical demand level for this position is Sedentary.
