Job summary

ESE Partners in Austin, Texas seeks a detail-oriented GIS Technician to support environmental projects. You will analyze spatial data, create detailed maps, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of geospatial information while communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The role uses ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, Python is a plus, and involves assisting with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, data management, and producing site maps and exhibits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Analysis, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
• Experience with spatial data management and analysis.
• Knowledge of cartographic principles and map design.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate as GIS support staff with respect to Environmental Due Diligence, Corrective Action, Compliance, Natural and Cultural Resources and Building Sciences.
• Assist in completing multiple project tasks with varying scopes of work.
• Assist with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments through GIS and research support.
• Conduct research on environmental topics.
• Deliver reports to clients via ESE’s electronic delivery system.
• Set up due diligence project files.
• Order regulatory data and historical aerial photographs.
• Data entry using ArcGIS, MS SQL Server, Trello, Excel and Corel.
