Job summary

AECOM is seeking a GIS Specialist I to support environmental and engineering projects using Esri ArcGIS products. The role involves data creation, QA, and delivering mapping outputs under supervision, with cross‑team collaboration.

Required is a bachelor’s in GIS or Geography and U.S. citizenship. Preferred are ArcGIS/AutoCAD experience and strong communication to manage workloads across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of work.
• Strong communications skills and ability to independently manage workload schedules.
• Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal and ESRI software.
• AutoCAD experience is preferred.
• Geographic concepts including coordinate systems, data management, analysis, visualization, and cartography.

Responsibilities

• Independently executes and delivers GIS projects from basic to significant scope.
• Develop databases and mapping outputs to support reports and deliverables.
• Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting and presentation.
• Perform QA of GIS data and graphic components.
• Extract and provide GIS data to clients.
• Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation.
• Work with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers.
• Assist field teams with field mapping preparation and data collection.
