Job summary

Altamira Us in Houston, TX seeks a GIS Technician to create, update and maintain accurate spatial datasets using ESRI GIS software, field data collection and deliverables for project teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of working independently or in a team, with a foundation in GIS data quality, maps, CAD drawings and client data.

Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, GPS/GNSS, and Python scripting is preferred; training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years’ experience with GIS software ArcMap/ArcPro.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Initiative-taking and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, maintain and organize GIS data.
• Review maps, surveys, CAD drawings and other source information.
• Support pipeline or related GIS data development and maintenance.
• Perform quality checks to identify and correct data errors.
• Create maps and GIS deliverables for projects and clients.
• Conduct field data collection and site documentation as needed.
• Collect spatial and attribute data using GPS/GNSS and field tools.
• Document field conditions and integrate data into GIS datasets.
• Follow project standards and schedules with teams.
