I help organizations get the best out of open source products like GeoServer, MapStore, GeoNode and GeoNetwork.

This position will focus on supporting our clients around the world with making the best out of our products, GeoServer, MapStore and GeoNode. It will also involve coordinating with multiskill teams (devops, back-end dev, front-end dev, tester, etc..) using agile metholodogies where applicable from inception to completion of our projects, ensuring that our clients receive what they need in time and with the quality level they expect from us.

The ability to work and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment is essential since this person will be the main point of contact between clients and developers and as such he will be responsible for mediating and coordinating clients’ needs.

Proven experience with key Open Source GIS technologies as well as with core GIS concepts is essential in order to be able to have a real impact on the teams and project coordinated.

Main Responsibilities are as follows

• Play the Support Engineer / Customer Support Specialist as needed
• Coordinate with the products developments team to implement requirements and tackle issues as they arise
• Periodically report status and strategic recommendations from clients to GeoSolutions leadership

Qualifications are as follows:

• 3+ years in technical project management
• Familiarity with issue management systems
• Familiarity with Agile Work Methodology
• Good Knowledge of most important OGC specifications and concepts (WMS, WFS, WCS, coverage, etc…)
• Proven experience in working as a developer/project manager in projects based on at least one product between GeoServer, GeoNode, MapStore is a strict requirement
• Proven experienve with QGIS is a plus
• Proven experience with ESRI products is a plus
• Being fluent in Italian is a plus

What you can expect:

Our intention is to establish a long term relationship so this is not a project based contract.

Working remotely is an option we fully embrace.

The ideal candidate should work from a timezone between GMT-1 and GMT+3 to ensure maximum overlap with the rest of the team.

Relocation is not requested and as such we are not envisioning any relocation support package.
