Job summary

ICF is seeking a GIS Specialist to support Puerto Rico projects from our Guaynabo office, with travel island-wide as needed. The role focuses on creating, updating, and maintaining spatial data to support diverse projects, using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and leveraging LiDAR data for improved maps.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in cadastral data management, GIS training experience, and full proficiency with ESRI tools, plus fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning or related field or associate's with 2–3 years GIS experience.
• 2+ years with cadastral data creation/editing using ESRI ArcGIS suite.
• 2+ years implementing GIS concepts: projections, datums, REST services, cartography, geodatabases.
• 1+ year supporting GIS trainings (in-person or virtual).
• Ability to travel up to 25% in Puerto Rico and obtain/maintain Public Trust; fluent English & Spanish.

Must be able to commute to our ICF office in Guaynabo and travel across the island to meet with clients and stakeholders as needed for project support. This position is based in Puerto Rico and does not include relocation assistance.

ICF is seeking a skilled GIS Specialist for our GIS operations in Puerto Rico. As a global consulting services company, we are dedicated to making big things possible for our clients by providing specialized expertise and innovative solutions to help achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have real-world experience in leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and spatial analysis. This role involves creating, updating, and maintaining spatial and design data to support various projects within our organization. This is a remote position that will require travel to the Guaynabo office for essential meetings, team collaboration, and specific project needs.

What you will be doing:

• Perform data capture, updates, and analysis within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
• Manage and document geodatabases and keep metadata updated.
• Design and develop maps as needed for both hardcopy and website use.
• Employ various remote sensing data, including LiDAR products, to enhance maps, update elevations, and assign surface type classifications.
• Support internal and external training and capacity building efforts, including helping develop and deliver training curricula and materials.

What you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning or a GIS-related field from a four-year college or university; OR Associate's degree in a relevant field with additional 2-3 years of related GIS experience and/or training will also be considered.
• 2+ years of experience with managing cadastral data creation and editing using the ESRI ArcGIS suite.
• 2+ years of experience correctly implementing fundamental GIS concepts such as spatial projections, datums, REST feature services, feature editing, cartography, geodatabase management.
• 2+ years of experience with GPS data collection techniques, ESRI mobile solutions (Field Apps, Survey 123, QuickCapture), and experience incorporating survey data into a geodatabase.
• 1+ years of experience supporting or leading various technical or GIS-related trainings (in-person, virtual, etc.)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Ability to travel up to 25% in Puerto Rico as requested.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

What we'd like you to have:

• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating technical and business requirements to both technical and non-technical users.
• Proven capability to assist with project updates, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Experience with GIS workflow automation using tools like Python and Safe FME is a plus.
• Experience with Azure-hosted GIS solutions is a plus
