Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a full-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to support diverse projects from the Duluth, GA or Chantilly, VA offices. You will work with GIS specialists, data managers, and project managers on environmental and disaster management projects for local, state, and federal clients.

Responsibilities include geospatial data management, map/figure creation, web mapping, and field data collection support. Occasional travel and field work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
• Preferred 5+ years demonstrated work experience performing GIS tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare map products, metadata, datasets, and data collection tools for projects.
• Develop and modify deliverables from sketches and verbal instructions.
• Analyze data to support web-based mapping apps, figures, tables, databases and reports.
• Provide GIS support for field activities and emergency response.
• Attend internal and external client meetings.
• Research data sources for project data mining.
• Document data references, metadata, methods, and calculations.
• Ensure deliverables follow QC requirements.
