Job summary

The City of Republic, Missouri is seeking a GIS Specialist to serve as the primary GIS practitioner within the Data Services team, maintaining authoritative geographic data and related workflows. You will ensure data accuracy, structure, documentation, and long-term usability for infrastructure, asset management, planning, and public service delivery.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional GIS experience required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree or formal coursework in GIS, geography, geospatial science, planning, information systems, or a related field preferred.
Experience in municipal government, utilities, infrastructure, planning, development, or asset management preferred; ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise, mobile GIS applications, GPS data collection, or drone imagery also preferred.
Must possess or obtain FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under 14 CFR Part 107 within initial six (6) months of employment.

Responsibilities

Maintain the accuracy, structure, documentation, availability, and long-term usability of authoritative GIS datasets and related workflows.
Support GIS in infrastructure and asset management, departmental operations, planning, development, and public service delivery.
Own the City's GIS-related drone imagery process: image capture, orthomosaic production, quality review, and publication for City maps and apps.
Assist employees using desktop, web, mobile, and field GIS tools and recommend new workflows as needed.
