Job summary

The City of Republic seeks a Professional Land Surveyor to protect city land interests and oversee surveys in rights-of-way, easements, and plats. You will research deeds, prepare boundary documents, and supervise survey data integration into GIS.

You may train staff, liaise with developers, and ensure compliance with Missouri statutes and standards. Five+ years of surveying experience and a valid Missouri PLS license are required; a strong grasp of survey instruments, CAD, GIS, and field

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience as a Professional Land Surveyor.
Experience with modern survey instruments and GPS.
Working knowledge of Missouri statutes and boundary standards.

Responsibilities

Renders professional opinion on boundaries, easements and right-of-way to protect City interests.
Researches deeds, easements, plats and surveys for property determinations.
Prepares corner documents, surveys, plats and descriptions per statutes or guidelines.
Assist in reviewing construction drawings and extract survey data for boundary and staking.
May conduct boundary, geodetic and right-of-way surveys for department projects.
Liaise with developers, engineers and contractors during planning and construction.
Oversee training of staff on survey standards and field procedures.
Maintain survey archive system and GIS land survey data.
Verify area/linear footage for payment and assist with as-built drawings.
Record-keeping, public interaction and other duties as assigned.
