Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a software engineer to design, develop, and support GIS-enabled solutions. The role involves building high-quality software in line with internal architecture and best practices.

You will troubleshoot data and configuration issues, collaborate with PM, BA, and Infra teams, and work within either Waterfall or Agile methodologies to deliver practical solutions. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years GIS experience are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
5+ years of relevant GIS experience and related coursework.
Strong problem-solving skills and collaboration with PM/BA/Infra teams.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support GIS-enabled technology solutions meeting business needs.
Troubleshoot application, data, and configuration issues using structured problem-solving.
Work with business partners to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
Understand patterns involving applications, APIs, services, databases, cloud tech, and GIS.
Apply GIS concepts, spatial data, and mapping to support location-based solutions.
