Job summary

Esri seeks a GIS subject matter expert to identify the right analysis tools for complex problems and to demonstrate the value of GIS. You will build relationships, present solutions, and speak confidently about Esri technologies to customers in the local government sector.

Expect travel 25-50% and a collaborative, growth‑oriented culture. Join Esri’s account team to advise customers on business challenges, design demonstrations, and deliver strategies aligning Esri technology with client needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
• 1+ years of experience working in or supporting local government.
• Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud).
• Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as understanding of sales and business development processes.
• Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments (Microsoft Azure or AWS).
• Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
• Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships by presenting, demonstrating, and supporting Esri software and solutions as part of the account team.
• Become a subject matter expert of local government and ArcGIS; communicate Esri value to customers.
• Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that show business value and align Esri technology with client needs.
• Present technical demonstrations and design presentations for technical and non-technical customers.
