Job summary

The City of Lexington is seeking a GIS Manager to lead the GIS program for the Utility Services Department. The role involves developing GIS capabilities, data management, and end-user training to support city operations.

Minimum qualifications include a GIS-related bachelor’s degree or four years of related work, four years in GIS/GPS, one year of supervisory experience, and strong ESRI software knowledge. A NC driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or related field.
• Four years of experience with GIS and GPS concepts and applications.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of ESRI software platform.
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains the City’s GIS needs for the Utility Services Department.
• Provides training and end-user support for GIS applications.
