Job summary

The role focuses on enterprise geospatial initiatives, data-driven decision-making, and mentorship of a skilled GIS team to support environmental stewardship across air, water, land, forestry, mining, and wildlife programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree; six sem. hours in CS, data processing, or GIS.
• Four years of experience in a technology or GIS-related field.
• Master's in GIS substitutes for two years of experience.
• Year-for-year substitutions apply for education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor GIS professionals across multiple divisions.
• Oversee development of GIS applications, mapping products, and data services.
• Ensure adherence to agency development standards and geospatial best practices.
• Integrate GIS tools into monitoring, permitting workflows, and resource planning.
• Promote cross-agency GIS training and collaboration.
