Job summary

Halff is seeking a GIS Intern focused on utility data management at our Fort Worth, TX location. The role involves GIS mapping, CAD-to-GIS conversions, data conversion, and database development across transportation, water, wastewater, or stormwater assets.

The internship runs June 7–August 13, 2027, and is full-time (40 hours/week). The position emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and eagerness to work on diverse utility GIS projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or another GIS-related field
• Familiarity with fundamental GIS concepts (editing, topology, spatial queries, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and suggest workflow improvements
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results

Responsibilities

• Map production tasks including converting CAD data to GIS and interpreting utility asset records and plans
• Create and edit GIS files and analyze spatial relationships within utility networks
• Participate in data integration and validation workflows using various utility datasets
• Support data quality review, asset inventory management, and technical documentation for utility GIS projects
