Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking a GIS intern for our Stormwater team in Houston, TX. You will create and update maps, dashboards, and spatial datasets under supervision and assist with GIS services and web applications.

You will perform basic spatial analysis, data quality checks, and geoprocessing tasks while helping maintain GIS databases and project documentation. This role requires daily in-office work and collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a BS or MS student in Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating maps, figures, dashboards, and spatial datasets under supervision.
• Support the configuration and testing of GIS services and web applications.
• Help conduct basic spatial analysis, geoprocessing tasks, and data quality checks.
• Assist with maintaining GIS databases, metadata, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project team members to support project deliverables and deadlines.
