Job summary

Halff is seeking a GIS Intern for utility data management in Fort Worth, TX. The role supports GIS mapping, CAD-to-GIS conversion, asset records, and data validation across transportation, water, wastewater, or stormwater projects.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p, Monday through Friday. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or another GIS-related field.
• Familiarity with fundamental GIS concepts (editing, topology, spatial queries, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and suggest workflow improvements.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Convert CAD data to GIS and perform utility-related mapping tasks.
• Gather and interpret utility asset records and plans for GIS integration.
• Create and edit GIS files and analyze spatial relationships within utility networks.
• Participate in map production, data integration, and data validation workflows.
• Support data quality review, asset inventory management, and technical documentation.
