Job summary

Sunoco LP seeks a detail-oriented GIS Intern in San Antonio to support pipeline and facility GIS data management and mapping. You will collaborate with GIS, engineering, and operations teams on infrastructure projects during a 12-week program beginning May 2027.

You must be enrolled in a GIS/Geography program with strong Excel and communication skills. You will gain hands-on GIS experience with ArcGIS Pro, GPS data integration, and documentation of workflows while supporting regulatory and

Qualifications

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in GIS/ Geography.
Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro.
Understanding of geospatial data structures, coordinate systems, and basic cartography.
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with the creation, editing, and maintenance of pipeline and facility GIS data.
Support integrity management efforts by mapping pipeline inspection data (ILI, hydrotest, etc.).
Contribute to the development of cartographic products, including alignment sheets and system maps.
Integrate GPS field-collected data into enterprise GIS systems.
Support web-based GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Online or enterprise Portal environments.
Document GIS processes, workflows, and metadata.
