Job summary

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline is seeking a GIS Analyst Intern for a 12-week summer program. You will gain practical experience working with enterprise GIS databases, spatial analysis tools, mapping applications, and field asset information.

You will collaborate with GIS professionals across Operations, Engineering, Integrity Management, Compliance, and IT, gaining exposure to real-world geospatial applications in the natural gas pipeline industry.

Qualifications

• This internship requires pursuing or having completed a degree in GIS or a related field.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities are essential.
• Ability to learn GIS software and geospatial technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of enterprise GIS data.
• Create, edit, and maintain spatial datasets representing pipeline, facility, and land assets.
• Produce maps, exhibits, dashboards, and reports for operational needs.
• Perform spatial analysis to support multiple projects.
• Assist with data validation and reconciliation between GIS and other systems.
• Support GIS data entry, conversion, and migration projects.
• Document GIS workflows, procedures, and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements.
