Job summary
Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. is seeking motivated students or recent graduates for a summer GIS Analyst Intern position.
You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise GIS databases, spatial analysis tools, mapping apps, and field asset information while collaborating with GIS professionals across Operations, Engineering, and IT. You will receive mentoring, orientation, and participate in projects that improve data quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ by start of internship and maintain a GPA of 2.75+.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Pursuing or completing a bachelor’s/master’s in GIS, Geography, or related field.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn GIS software and geospatial technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support development, maintenance, and QA of enterprise GIS data.
- Create and maintain spatial datasets for assets.
- Produce maps, dashboards, and reports for operations and business needs.
- Perform spatial analyses to support projects.
- Assist with data validation, research, and reconciliation with other systems.
- Support GIS data entry, conversion, and migration.
- Document GIS workflows and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on GIS-based solutions.
- Participate in mentoring and professional development.
