Baxter & Woodman invites a GIS Intern to join our Spatial Technology Group in Crystal Lake, IL or Milwaukee, WI. You'll gain hands-on experience across municipal GIS projects, mapping, data development, and field data collection while learning from seasoned GIS professionals.

This internship emphasizes teamwork, high-quality work, and the ability to contribute to diverse projects for local government clients.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.
• Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro).
• Ability to perform both office GIS work and outdoor field data collection.
• Strong problem-solving, learning mindset, and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Report to GIS Department Manager for work responsibilities and scheduling.
• Perform GIS mapping, data development, editing, analysis, and QC tasks using ArcGIS.
• Assist with maps, GIS databases, and web maps/apps configuration.
• Support municipal GIS projects for utilities, infrastructure and public works.
• Conduct GPS/GNSS field data collection and verify asset information.
• Incorporate field data into GIS and assist with special projects.
