Job summary

H2M architects + engineers is seeking qualified interns for our GIS/Planning Division in Melville, NY. You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop and maintain GIS data and assist with Environmental Assessment Forms and Environmental Impact Statements.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a related field, proficient with Microsoft Office, and possess strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Eligible for internship: sophomore or higher in a related field.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently or in a team.

H2M architects + engineers, a multi-discipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm with multiple offices in NY & NJ seeks qualified interns to work closely with experienced professionals in ourGIS/Planning Division at our Melville, NY office.

The Intern will be responsible for:

• General administrative tasks
• Assist with the development and maintenance of various forms of GIS data.
• Assist in preparing Environmental Assessment Forms and Environmental Impact Statements
• Organize project files and compile reports containing multiples chapters and appendices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

• Enrolled as a sophomore or higher in a Geography, Environmental Science/Studies, Geology, Urban Planning, Engineering, Political Science, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience withEsri’s suite of GIS products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online.

The hourly rate for this role is $19.25 to $27.00.
