Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas is seeking an experienced IT professional to plan, develop and supervise multiple GIS databases in a distributed environment. You will implement applications using ArcGIS server, Python scripting and JavaScript, and publish GIS data through web services.

You will analyze database designs, ensure data normalization and integrity, and optimize performance and security while providing technical support to users and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Microcomputer Technology or related field.
• Two years' experience in database programming with Oracle or SQL relational databases and GIS applications.
• Experience with HTML5, JavaScript, Python and TypeScript is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and manage multiple GIS-related databases in a distributed environment.
• Create web applications using ArcGIS server, Python scripting and JavaScript.
• Integrate multimedia into web interfaces and publish GIS data via web services.
• Analyze database designs, ensure normalization and maintain data integrity.
• Provide technical support and optimize system performance and security.
