Job summary

A & Associates is seeking a GIS Developer to design, develop, and maintain Geographic Information System (GIS) applications, maps and databases in collaboration with City leadership and staff. The role emphasizes business needs, stakeholder interviews, and robust GIS architecture.

Responsibilities include implementing GIS solutions, ensuring data integrity, creating documentation, and delivering user training.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Geography and experience with ESRI GIS technology.
Knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server Technology including Enterprise editing and maintenance.
Microsoft Windows operating systems and supporting vendor programs.
Database structures and integration; GUI or user interface design.
Software design methods; database operation and SQL statements.
Web technology, protocols and practices; statistical analysis and data presentation.

Responsibilities

Researches, analyzes and evaluates requests for new or improved GIS function with focus on business need.
Derives GIS needs analysis through stakeholder interviews.
Designs, develops, implements and maintains GIS applications following standards.
Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams and vendors for guidance on GIS functionality.
Maintains documentation reflecting GIS architecture and software revisions.
Develops and monitors performance metrics; ensures application security and data integrity.
Provides training and technical assistance to City staff and solves user problems.
