Job summary

A prominent company is seeking motivated GIS Technicians to support electric design projects. Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $27.00/hr

GIS Technician – Remote (Michigan Residents Only, No Exceptions)

Remote (Must reside in Michigan)

Initial training onsite in Grand Rapids

6-Month Contract (likely to extend)

Pay Range: $20–$27/hr

We’re hiring motivated GIS Technicians to support electric design projects. If you’re detail-oriented, eager to learn, and have experience with CAD or GIS systems, this is a great opportunity to build your skills while contributing to important infrastructure projects.

About the Role:

• Input electric distribution design work orders into GIS mapping systems
• Interpret construction drawings, design orders, and as-built information
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and spreadsheets
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal customers
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures
• Support both independent tasks and collaborative team projects

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• Working knowledge of GIS and/or CAD software
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Solid skills with Microsoft Office (Windows XP or later)
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs
• SAP knowledge is a plus (not required)

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in a related field
• 1–3 years of relevant experience (open to entry-level candidates)
• Must be able to attend onsite training in Grand Rapids during the first few weeks
• Must reside in Michigan for the duration of the contract

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (flexible), occasional overtime possible
