Job Title: GIS/CAD Operator (Technician)

Location: Hybrid – Grand Rapids, MI (Initial Onsite Training Required)

Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Job Overview:

TPI Global is seeking a detail-oriented GIS/CAD Operator (Technician) to support low voltage electric design operations for our client, CMS Energy. This is a hybrid role based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with initial onsite training required for the first ~2 months. We welcome candidates from across lower Michigan but prefer those within commuting distance of Grand Rapids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input low voltage electric design work orders into a GIS mapping system.
  • Interpret and process electric design orders, records, and work orders.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate logs, spreadsheets, and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality and data integrity in all work performed.
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with training of co-workers and collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect in all communications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role (GIS, CAD, drafting, or electric design preferred).
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping systems and/or CAD software.
  • Ability to follow instructions, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
