Job description

Overview:

We’re seeking a contract Architectural Draftsperson to support projects from initial site assessment through to permit-ready construction documents. This is a flexible, remote-first role with variable hours based on project workload. Ideal for an experienced drafter who values autonomy, knows their way around the California Building Code, and can comfortably perform site visits around the North Bay.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct field measurements and document existing site conditions across the North Bay
• Develop architectural drawings and 3D models from design development through construction documents
• Translate design intent into clear, code-compliant documentation
• Coordinate with designers, consultants, and other team members as needed
• Maintain organized digital project files and version control
• Ensure all work aligns with the California Building Code and local permitting processes
  Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of architectural drafting experience
• Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and Twinmotion
• Familiarity with California Building Code and local permit workflows
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Clear communication skills in a remote work environment
• Access to reliable transportation for periodic site visits

Nice to Have:

• Experience with residential additions, remodels, ADUs, or boutique commercial projects
• Knowledge of Title 24 documentation and energy compliance requirements
• B. Arch or M. Arch or Interiors degree

Contract Details:

This is a contract-based position with flexible hours that will vary depending on project volume. Work is primarily remote, but the ability to perform on-site evaluations in the North Bay region is required.
