Job summary

Penmac Staffing seeks a GIS Analyst I in the Springfield area to maintain GIS data integrity and support enterprise GIS applications. Responsibilities include spatial analysis, data governance, and user assistance across the organization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Geospatial Sciences (or related field) and 3+ years of GIS experience with Esri ArcGIS. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

• Assist with documentation, workflow development, standards, and project support.

GIS Analyst

Are you an experienced GIS professional looking for an opportunity to work with enterprise-level utility data systems?

Penmac Staffing is seeking a GIS Analyst I to support a leading utility organization in the Springfield area. This position is responsible for maintaining GIS data integrity, supporting enterprise GIS applications, performing spatial analysis, and assisting users throughout the organization with GIS solutions.

Requirements for the GIS Analyst I

• Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Sciences, Geography, Geology, Planning, Information Technology, Construction Technology, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Minimum of three years of recent GIS experience supporting data networks.
• Experience with Esri ArcGIS products.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and support GIS users and work effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred qualifications

• ArcSDE administration experience
• Utility GIS experience supporting electric, natural gas, water, or broadband systems
• ArcFM experience
• Experience with GIS integrations, Model Builder, and enterprise GIS applications

Work Environment

This GIS Analyst I position is primarily office-based and may occasionally require evening or weekend work to support system maintenance activities.
