Job summary

Randolph Electric Membership Corporation’s Engineering team seeks a motivated GIS Specialist to apply GIS technology, data analysis, and problem solving to support the reliability of our electric distribution system. You will work with staff to transform geographic data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities include data collection from GPS and imagery, updating models, creating maps, scripting automation with Python/ArcPy, and integrating GIS with other cooperative software platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, CS, IT, or related field required or equivalent experience.
• Two to five years of relevant GIS experience preferred, within electric utilities encouraged.
• Strong proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and GIS databases.
• Experience integrating GIS with other software platforms is preferred.
• Ability to write and maintain scripts (Python/ArcPy) to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data from GPS, imagery, field surveys, and staking sheets.
• Review staking sheet data and update the electric distribution model for changes.
• Analyze spatial relationships and trends to support planning, operations, and emergencies.
• Create digital maps, models, reports, and geographic products for staff and field crews.
• Maintain GIS records and verify asset locations and connectivity.
• Develop and maintain GIS scripts to automate mapping tasks and data integration.
