Job summary

Randolph Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a motivated GIS Specialist to join our Engineering team. This role uses GIS technology, data analysis, and problem solving to support the reliability of our electric distribution system and serve our employees and members.

You will collect and manage geographic data, create maps and models, automate mapping tasks with scripts, and integrate GIS with other cooperative software platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, CS or related field and 2–5 years GIS experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, GIS databases, and mobile data collection apps.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, ArcPy, Microsoft 365, and software integrations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data from GPS, imagery, field surveys, staking sheets, and other sources.
• Review staking sheets and update the model to reflect construction, maintenance, and equipment changes.
• Analyze spatial relationships, trends, and patterns to support planning, daily ops, and emergencies.
• Create digital maps, models, reports, and geographic products for employees and field personnel.
• Maintain GIS records of assets and verify connectivity, phasing, and locations.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate mapping tasks and improve workflows.
• Develop and maintain integrations between GIS and other Cooperative software.
• Perform quality reviews and collaborate with teams to research and correct information.
• Assist employees with GIS software, database navigation, and mobile mapping.
• Maintain GIS procedures, system documentation, data standards, and user instructions.
• Provide GIS support during outages, emergencies, and other events.

What You Will Do

• Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data from GPS, satellite imagery, field surveys, staking sheets, and other sources.


• Review and post staking sheet information and update the electric distribution model to reflect construction, maintenance, equipment, and system changes.


• Analyze spatial relationships, trends, and patterns to support system planning, daily operations, and emergency response.


• Create accurate and informative digital maps, models, reports, and geographic products for employees and field personnel.


• MaintainGISrecords for electric distribution assets and verify system connectivity, phasing, equipment information, and asset locations.


• Write and maintain scripts that automate mapping tasks, integrate data, and improveGISworkflows.


• Develop and maintain integrations betweenGISand other Cooperative software platforms.


• Perform quality reviews, identify data discrepancies, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and field personnel to research and correct information.


• Assist employees withGISsoftware, database navigation, mobile mapping applications, and geographic data inquiries.


• MaintainGISprocedures, system documentation, data standards, and user instructions.


• ProvideGISsupport during outages, emergencies, and other operational events as needed.

What You Will Bring

A bachelor's degree inGIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and two to five years of relevantGISexperience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Electric utilityGISexperience is preferred.

Candidates should have advanced proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online,GISdatabases, and mobile data collection applications. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, ArcPy, Microsoft 365, and software integrations is preferred.
