Job summary

Entergy Corporation is seeking a dedicated GIS Analyst in New Orleans to design, update and maintain electronic facility and maintenance information systems. This role involves working with tools such as GE Smallworld and ESRI ArcGIS, performing critical data analysis, and supporting engineering and construction activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a 2-year technology or Bachelor’s degree in geography, geosciences, or computer science along with 2 years of relevant experience in GIS systems. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential for success in this dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience using GE Small World, ESRI ArcGIS and/or vector/raster rendering systems.
• Strong understanding of coordinate systems and geography.
• Experience in data conversion and data migration activities.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform edits in electronic facility and maintenance information systems.
• Perform QA/QC on GIS electric model accuracy.
• Maintain ongoing spatial data maintenance.

Experience with ESRI ArcGIS

Proficiency in GIS

Computer programming skills in Python

Strong communication skills
